Had to work on Thanksgiving (Venting RANT for sec)

So I had to work on thanksgiving. Basically if you care…Don’t issue customer transactions on holidays. The more people that don’t do that. The less businesses open. The more bliss. You could state to them. “I hope you get off soon” But if you really cared then you wouldn’t have shown up! Sounds terrible. And it’s not that I am not grateful to have a job. It is tearful that I do not get to take part in the glee on the holiday. I am 41 years old today and only getting older. After the shift, I am sore and tired; before it, I am getting ready for work. So no celebration on the actual holiday for me. And yes it does make a difference.

Think about it. People don’t want to work New Years Eve or New Years Day. Or Labor Day or Easter. If we dive further then some parents don’t want to work on Mothers Day or Fathers Day. Veterans don’t want to work on veterans day. Note: I am not a parent or a veteran. These or not company benefits. People expect to breathe air and water to drink to live, right? Well basic humanity or human rights I don’t think is too far fetched. But I know, I know. Some people that already have these days off. Might call me entitled. Well, you only get one life. Basic human rights should be a part of it. Profit for an additional fraction of .01 cent worth upset employees? Great company morale?

Peace…Plus you most likely have a friend or family member in your life affected. If you say you care about them, then…
